Now: Episode 6 "Pas de Deux"
Sitting across from each other is Boyd treading carefully with his words to explain to Tian Chen that it doesn't matter why Sarah did what she did but how she can be helpful in the long run. Tian Chen angry mad dogging expression gradually fades and looks like she is softening up. Before she can even respond the angry Kenny is enters the diner mad dogging now. Boyd lets himself out to see the church completely emptied accompanied with a ballerina dancing followed by a monster coming out of his mouth.
Damn. Boyd turns out he was still at the diner this whole time hallucinating.
Over at Colony House Ellis and Fatima are bringing out pallets of vegatables begrudgingly at that. They meet up with Donna at her truck while they are packing down the final fixings. Fatima asks Donna what he should tell the people. Donna says as little as possible and that we have a new procedure now. As Donna drives away, both can't hide their disappointed faces.
Kristi looks like she is about to start her day so she goes through Mari's bad and sticking out like a sore thumb is a folder that reveals that Mari was on her way to rehab. Mari walks in and they have a blowout lower tier: she lied. Higher tier: SHE'S A JUNKY!. She immediately goes to empty the medicine cabinet and somehow Mari finds a way to to turn it around on her.
Boyd and Kenny in the woods, I guess escorted Boyd home in one piece and Boyd has another hallucination of the ballerina. Nope, Kenny cannot see that, Boyd.
He arrives at the hospital and he finally bites the bullet and finally tells SOMEONE about his wacky ordeal. Kristi gets to hear this seemingly outlandish story of coming across the old chained up man who slashed his arm and puts his bloody wrist accompanied with the lovely line "my blood is your blood now". That is how he got the worms wriggling inside him and feels like SOMETHING is coming for him now.
Kristie obviously is skeptical AF. Boyd continues to tell her that those worm things have been feeding on the chained up dude keeping him alive all those years where he wanted nothing more but death. Also, if should anything go to far to make sure to put an "end to things". A little cryptic but okay.
She leaves him to rest and joins Kenny at the front. It's too late at this point so they are all having a slumber party.
Now we know where all the food is at, Donna lets it out they have to be more careful with rations. Her and Jim have a spat in front of everybody about the critical level of food and here they are with what Jim claims is a month's worth of food at the table.
In the middle of the night, Boyd continues to be haunted by the ballerina and the accompanied music. THEN THE BALLERINA CHOKES HIM. Comes to and Mari comes in to check on him and he almost shoots her.
Ellis brings Fatima who is pretty tight lipped and any good boyfriend would notice something is amiss when all their partner says is "I'm fine." So he takes her in another room to ask how she is REALLY feeling. Well, Fatima finally caught word of Boyd's shenanigans so she unleashes her confused anger towards him. A little shocking but Ellis is actually defending his dad. Heh. Step in the right direction. Way to go, Ellis.
However there's some commotion downstairs that Ellis and Fatima are trying to deescalate. One of the drunk guys that previously has gotten into altercations with is now bullying our sweet Elgen. He loudly accused him of stealing food from the pantry. Elgen says nah bro it's the other way around. The belligerent dude is not letting up and continues to make a scene. In fact, he tells Elgen to GTFO. There is a scuffle in which Ellis is getting in the middle but get accidentally stabbing in the chest in the process. NOOOOOOOOOOO!
At the hospital, Boyd is having another internal monologue of his conscience in the form of Father Khatri who calls him the "most stubborn asshole he has ever met". Haha. However Kenny walks in during this chat and is okay "You are not leaving this room until you tell me what is going on." Ughh well now I don't mind Tabitha's overbearingness now Kenny is like nonstop fury.
Fatima is adamant that they need to get him to the clinic. I know I keep saying hospital but eh clinic, hospital, medical center, all the same meaning when it comes down to it. It's already dark and plus they don't even have the truck as Donna is partying with Jim's family.
Elgen comes in for the clutch and risks his life to go outside and get the other vehicle and meets them up front. So the three of them haul ass to the clinic.
Upon arrival, Kristi calls for everyone, even the delirious Boyd and asks for all of their help. Boyd is worried that his only son is bleeding profusely so he does all that he can to help his little boy. Fatima is freaking out so Boyd takes her aside to another room and Elgen follows suit. After an intense and rapid chain of events, looks like Ellis is stabalized. at least for now.
Boyd tries to pep talk Fatima to keep her from hyperventilating to death. Kristi walks in and says while he is okay, he is at risk for organ failure. She asks what blood type he is O- and without skipping a beat she tells them all to meet back up and get ready for Boyd's blood transfusion to Ellis.
DID SHE NOT HEAR THE STORY BOYD TOLD YOU WITH THE OLD MAN, KRISTI?!?!?!?
Boyd is panicking AF because he doesn't want Ellis to pass those witchy psycho worms into his son. Kristi never believed him and tries to talk him out of it. The more he tries to explain how it is a curse, the more everyone believes he is loco.
As luck would have it, that when the worms start wiggling and Mari is the first to confirm about those motherfucking worms. Okay, plan off the table now but they still need Type O- blood.
This is when Kenny decides to say just bleed on him so he can bear the burden and still be able to do the blood transfusion with his son. I don't think he really believed it was real either but offered as a form of placebo effect.
Well, his act of heroic doesn't fly so Boyd has another plan and yeets himself out of the clinic in hopes of luring the monsters. He thinks he can transfer the blood magic stuff to one of them I think.
He goes out and taunts waiting for one to come out and well looky here Mr. Smiley dude is going to be the recipent. After a tense scene and Boyd approaching him cautiously slices himself and slices Mr. Smiley, he is able to do the ceremonious line but with his own touch. "My blood is your blood, motherfucka". At first it looks like it doesn't phase him but a second later he squirms and lets out a big 'ol monster screech and flops to the ground with the other fellow monsters circling him and just staring at his ass.
Boyd rushes back inside and is ready to do the transfusion.
Over at Tien Chen's house, Ethan is helping Donna putting stuff away in the basement. As Donna is stocking their cabinet, Ethan is just staring at the ceiling wondering if this house is going to fall down next. Ethan says to Donna that even though he told his parents he is scared, um he is. Donna says well she is scared to but fear is what makes us compel us to be heroes. What a hell of a nice line.
So the blood transfusion is all done and Ellis looks like he is going to make a full recovery. Fatima excuses herself and sobs a little bit and Kristi tries her best to keep her head up but eh that is above her paygrade when she asks if she has any pregnancy tests.
Here's to hoping that Kenny's rage phase is coming to a close. Kenny and Boyd are looking out the window of the remains of Mr. Smiley still on the ground. Is he dead? He replies that we will find out soon enough.
Episode 7 is next.
