Tokyo Ghoul S1E3
Previously on Tokyo Ghoul
Now: Episode 3 "Dove"
A man is seen talking to his patient when out of nowhere his shit gets rocked. It is revealed to be a high level ghoul whom Doctor refers to him as Yamori. Yamori kindly in a not-so-kindly way asks him to make this thingy that he seems to have not have anymore. Doesn't say what it is but I think I have a feeling of what it is. His menacingly ass finally leaves. When a mother and daughter were hiding behind a curtain that got unveiled when they were finally free.
Yoshimura, the head dude of Otaku, is teaching the pirate Kaneki in the art of pouring tea in which he warmly explains that Otaku ain't an ordinary tea house, it's a COOL TEA HOUSE. By that, he means that it is meant as a safe haven for other fellow ghouls who are fuck ass like Nishio. However, it is not unheard of for humans to patronize Otaku as well. Much like him and his friend, Hide were just at.
Kaneki then goes to the front to help Touka but speak of the devil it's Hide who is chatting it up with Touka. He is chipper as hell and said he's there to thank her after she found them after that "accident". Obviously that is not exactly what happened but his memory is a fuzz but Kaneki is like uhhhhh
Touka immediately stomps on his foot as a little body language to STFU and go along with it. Nishio is still in the hospital but yeah he takes his leave and yeah. This goes without saying but Touka says that if he cares about his BFF then don't ever reveal his ghoul-yness to him or else she will have to gank his ass. That means die.
She ain't playing, yo.
In walks the aforementioned woman and her daughter, Kiyoko and Hiname. They both look distraught and are familiar with Touka so she and Kaneki rush to their aid. After they go into another room, he asks what's their deal but Touka is NOT in the mood to say it but she does give him a rundown real quick about the people with the weird cases.
Uh speaking of which here is a meeting where all these people in suits are sitting at tables while there is a discussion on ghouls. Yup, there is a whole ass organization dedicated to finding out everything there is to know about them. They are currently tracking their movements when Detective Amon perks up to inform about the recent discovery of Jason, a member of 13th ward, came into contact with a known binge eater, Rize, who is also S-rated. High status, bros.
See that plier thingy there? That's what Jason left behind. It's some kind of instrument made out of quinque steel. Never heard of it but it must be good. Also, after their last interaction binge eating seems to somehow have ceased. And that's sus as hell.
Marude, the one who is head of the meeting, compliments Amon. He asks Amon's partner, Mado, how lucky is he to work with such a smart detective dude. Mado, on the other hand, is a lot older then the rest of these chaps. And unhinged. Oh boy.
These are the investigators. CCG. Marude assigns Amon and Mado in charge of 20th ward of ghouls. Goes without saying but their goals is to completely eradicate ghouls.
As the meeting commences, Amon and Mado are walking down the hallway. You know, just to get a feel of these 2 new characters to this crazy story. Amon seems to a really uptight, smart and very by the books kind of guy. Meanwhile Mado on the otherhand gives me the feel that he has a rather unorthodox yet effective approach to things. Maybe it is a good thing they are assigned with each other. Not for the ghouls, obviously but yeah you get my point.
At Otaku Yoshimura tries to get Kaneki to eat a simple sandwich but Kaneki is like "DISGUSTANGGGG" He goes to say just how rancid it tastes. He says he is being such a girl about it and chucks the sandwich down his gobbler to an utterly shocked Kaneki.
Yoshimura gives him a pro tip and says that the trick to eating it is NOT eating it. Swallow it whole and feign chewing motions and throw it up later before your body begins to digest it. Because if it does...it's not good. He also introduces their pseudo sugar cubes that will make his coffee taste a little yucky. He also asks Kaneki to stay a little bit after his regular hours to go food shopping.
His mind automatically to thinking he has to kill people but Yoshimura tells him to calm the fuck down because it's just regular food shopping.
Yomo proceeds to escort Kaneki "food shopping". However, Yomo randomly stops the car on the side of an elevated dimly dark road. They both get out of the car and Kaneki is asking a million fucking questions. He leans on the railing but Yomo is like "Don't do that, you'll fall." I guess all Kaneki heard was "fall" because the dumb ass indeed did fall.
When he reaches the bottom, he sees a dead body. Yomo gracefully lands and tells him that this is a hot spot for when people commit suicide. Throws him a bag and commands him to pack the corpse in there.
Meanwhile Amon and Mado are out prowling the streets there is a ghoul is actually prowling the streets. Right when he is about to lunch at the investigators, Mado proves exactly how much of a bad ass he is and immobilizes him. He asks him what the wrench plier looking thing is. Ghoul doesn't know but yeah Mado just wants an excuse to slaughter said ghoul.
Hey you know what this means at this point?! Kaneki needs a MASK!!! Yoshimura tasks Touka to guide this mousey little girl to get a mask. Touka is totes not pleased because tomorrow is her only day off. So that sucks. Yoshimura has just received word that 2 inspectors were last seen in 20th ward (that's them!!!) and it's really for his protection. He begrudgingly agrees.
So the next day, they meet up and enter the mask maker named Uta. He looks like an anime Skrillex. I wish I could say I made that up myself but it was on a hilarious AF Youtube video that described him as such.
Uta is a very eccentric fellow that's for sure and gets to work right away when trying to size up, measurements and all that jazz. By the by, they have a little gossip time about Touka asking if he has the hots for her but Kaneki thinks she is intimidating. Uta sympathizes and says that it is obviously just a front and a hella hard worker.
On their walk back to Anteiku, Kaneki tries once again to ask about Hiname but she says to mind her beeswax. This time, he presses further to see if he can be of any help to that little girl because she is just so adorable!! He didn't say that last part, though. Touka tosses a nibble of information that she had to flee her home and leave her dad behind. Just leaves it at that.
Slight change of topic but he next asks her what is the purpose of masks. Amazed no one bothered to tell him, she continues to say that should he ever run into the investigators, also known as "doves" that the need a mask to shield their identity for the obvious reasons.
Back with Mado and Amon, they are on the prowl and track down even more ghouls. They corner 2 ghouls and try to ask them but of course they refuse to cooperate and even if they knew why would they want to help the very people who want to kill all da ghouls? So yeah, they get slaughtered. Poor ghouls.
Kaneki goes to seek out Hiname but the second he walks in her rooms, he catches her deadass stuffing her face with a bloodiful meal. He freaks out and Homer's his way out if the room.
Talking with another ghoul waiter, Koma, he tells him how much of a faux pas it is to bust in on a ghoul feasting as they usually like to eat in private, female ghouls in particular. Koma hands Kaneki coffee to hand to Hiname as a kind of peace offering.
He offers his apologies to the young girl and sets the cup on the table and is set to leave the room when Hinami strikes up conversation asking just what is he as she detects that he doesn't seem like a regular ghoul. He explains real quick that he's a hybrid. They warm to each other even more when they find a common interest in the form of a book she has in her hands. So this scene goes on a little bit more to express their blossoming friendship and bonding.
Touka is just around the corner and overhears their conversation and walks away before she is seen by them.
So it turns out one of the ghouls survived the brutal attack and is seen chatting with another ghoul. They are wondering why the investigators are suddenly in 20th ward but they suspect it has something to do with "that gormet guy" is what attracted them. Jason?? idk but while the ghoul is reeling from his owies, he gets blasting from behind (not the sexy way, either) by none other than Mado and Amon who creepily march up to the surviving ghoul much to his dismay.
In walks in Ryoko and her daughter, Hinami in which the little girl gleefully tells all the staff at Anteiku a warming good morning. Touka gives a quick smile when she sees Hinami and Kaneki have a brief chat but after her and her mother lead her up to the room, she resumes being a hard ass to him. lol.
In walks a new customer. A very...theatrical customer.

Post credit scene:
A bird is coughing and Hinami wants to save the cute little birdie. Touka, just a few feet away looks a little unnerved by it but Hinami picks up the bird and runs after her playfully but begging to help the poor wittle birdie!!! Heh it turns out that Touka is deathly afraid of birds!!! lolz. Hinami wants to name it but Touka has an even better idea, COOK IT!
