From S1E10
Episode 10 "Oh, The Places We'll Go" Duh Season Finale, Ya'll!
Ethan is playing with the finger puppets about going to the Tower. Julie asks about his story and all Ethan can reply back is his characters going back home. It gets interrupted by Jade who once again, welcomes himself in the house to explain to the confused family about the lights using a lamp. He thinks he has it all figured out. I think. He points out that a regular appliance with a plug itself is useless but if you fix it to the lamp lightbulb but it is powered! If you take this idea and expand on it then they can make Colony House one big 'ol battery.
The woman that Sarah says spoke to her is Boyd's late wife if you haven't figured that out already. So this morning is starting by Boyd holding the boat key in his Parkinson's affected hand that his wife surprised him with on the day they entered Monster Town. They both step outside and to their utter confuzzlement, they see webs???? I could totally find a way to make an immature joke here but I'll refrain for now.
Jade tells everyone in the diner basically what he just told Jim's family to get them up to speed and he continues the speech to implore the people's help in doing their part to help build their house battery or whateva.
Kenny finds Donna at the police station where she missed the whole shebang. It's not like she doesn't give a shit but she's indifferent now and strolls on out of there. Kenny then meets up with Kristie outside and due to how much he is dropping DTF vibes, the guilt eats her up where she breaks it to him that she's engaged to someone else (as in the world before arriving here). He's hurt but he tries to stay strong and decides to get to work.
Over at Colony House, Ellis whisks Fatima away to to show her where he was when he first saw her when she encountered the town for the first time. With that combined with Fatima's one year survivor anniversary, it is now established Ellis and his family have been there much longer. Anyway, he proposes to her!!! I'm not a fan of romantic subplots to tv shows but this scene was soooo sweet!
What is NOT sweet is Boyd's temper as he's trying to navigate through these web of bullshit with Sarah who is the constant pain in his ass. She's adamant to listen to the voice last night that says they are making a grave mistake in continuing to hike further. The heightened conversation gets interrupted when he hears a faint voice in the distance calling for help. Sarah can't hear it for some reason.
He reaches a tree covered in the webs but in the center of it is Abby. As he gets closed, "Abby" lunges out at him which sends him taking many steps back but ticks and spiders get released and start biting him. So gross. Sarah pleads with him to share what he saw. During which, Boyd is starting to crack with second guessing himself and almost convinced that there is no way out of here until Sarah smacks some sense into him. How nice.
Over at the Colony House people are hard at work. Ethan says cryptic shit to his dad that Victor is doing his part of the quest. His dad is like "Uhhhh yeahhhhh."
Jade goes back to the house where he sees Kenny's mom kneeling and paying homage to her late husband. This is where we finally see some redeeming qualities in this fucker and it's nice to see out of all the people to shed that tough exterior I'm glad it was Kenny's mom to be that catalyst. It's clear she's the only one he respects the most. They gather some snacks and bring it to the Colony House.
Looks like everyone is at the Colony House actually.
Kristie has a talk with Kenny for some closure. She says she wants both. To be with her fiance but also wants to be with him. She just doesn't know what her decision is yet. I just want this subplot to hurry up and ENDDDDD.
Everyone is set to launch the the antenna with Jade lending some man power. After the antenna is properly upright, the rest of the people head on inside to get ready to spark in unison for the battery house while Jim is able to successfully get a signal for the radio.
The celebration gets abruptly interrupted when someone spots rain clouds
Sarah is still trying to lead an ever increasingly debbie downer of a Boyd further into the forest. Funny how it was initially Sarah that was and now they have switched roles. How interesting. They both are also trying to evade the already pouring rain until they see...a lighthouse.
Jim starts transmitting his signal as Ethan is the helper switching between stations from one to the next. Donna demands that this needs to be cut short as this looks like a real doozy of a storm. Jim sends Ethan inside while Donna takes his place. After a few more tries HE FINALLY GETS A REPLY!!!!!
However, things are starting to decline fast as this voice on the other end of the line knows Jim's name. What he replies next sends up running the fuck out of there.
"Your wife shouldn't be digging that hole, Jim."
Hole, you say? Whilst Tabitha is digging, the ground starts to crack and give way underneath her and she falls a couple feet. Bewildered and perplexed, she sees non other than Victor emerge from the shadows saying some cryptic shit of his own.
"The boy in white said you would come and I should wait. We have to go; it's not safe here. This is where they sleep."
NANI?!?!?
Jim gets home a little too late and sees a huge hole in his house might as well say the earth too.
In the rainy forest, Boyd is totes not doing well despite Sarah's best efforts. The boy in white has finally appeared to Sarah giving her the message that Nathan was right about the push back from the town and pointed to a wayfarer tree for them to escape the rain to go somewhere safe.
Sarah gives the same line to Boyd as Victor gave to Julie that she'll be right behind him. Guess how well that goes. Great, now is hella trapped in a hole somewhere all by himself. Fuck a doodle doo.
As if there ain't more problems, the cycle repeats itself. There's a motherfucking bus arriving in this motherfucking town!!!!!!
That concludes Season 1. Now, go refresh the entire season. Or you can start 2nd season here.
