Now: Episode 3
Brief flashback to Dong Rim sitting at a bench when the guy approaches her all mad saying it is all her fault that he got expelled. She calmly says that all she was was a witness and just reported to what she saw. He got his own dumbass expelled for doing that. Doing what? I don't have any idea as it was not said but obviously bad.
Now back retracing a few seconds to how the previous episode ended when Hwa Sun had to swat against the zombie thing. Unbeknownst to her is when that was happening slapping the zombie's head with the truck an unknown woman is seen guiding the little kid away.
The next day is swarms of people. Regular people who are trying to run for refuge inside this building. It's the mousey teacher from earlier. A young girl got separated from her family and ran into the door. At least tried to but the security guard prevents him from opening the door and the poor girl got swooped by a running zombie. Dude is like WTF if it was your daughter?!?!? As he storms off, we see a small group of people are already inside and hmmm interesting, Dong Rim is among those people.
Meanwhile elsewhere, Hwa Sun has made it to a church and while she is making her way up the stairs, she comes across an old lady who is clearly infected and frothing at the mouth. She is weilding a kitchen knife in her hand and right when she is about to lunge at her, a random man is able to unlock the door and give Hwa Sun a safe haven. Phew!
As soon as she gets inside she immediately asks if they have seen a kid, going on to describe her. As luck would have it, the young woman is revealed to be the one to have taken Do Yoon so yay they are reunitied! This doesn't seem to quell Hwa Sun and asks if she even knows her and why she took her if it was pretty damn clear she was with her. The lady seems harmless to be honest but she must've really thought that Do Yoon was all alone. So...sorry?
They ask about her mother but after Hwa Sun says she ded, the young woman hugs her. Hwa Sun seems hella skeptical.
After Do Yoon is led away to get some food or something, another man lightly reprimands her on why she dead ass told the little girl her mother is dead. Hwa Sun swiftly replies that times are different now and in this world, she has to toughen up. She takes a look to her left and sees crosses and shit inquires on WTF this is.
New Sky Deity.
While Hwa Sun excuses herself to freshen up, the woman from earlier offers her some clothes previously belonging to a member along with a bottle of a drink of some sort to uhh...help her anxiety. She refers to this as "life giving water". No. Thanks. The woman says that their religious movement, New Sky Deity has purposely brought upon this pandemic to punish those who don't have the faith. In fact, the very action of her being there and the child is all in the will of New Deity and they're there for a reason.
"Are you serious right now?"
Lol I love her reaction. Hwa Sun is pretty no nonsense and makes it clear that she is no dang believer of this New Sky Daddy bullshit. GTFO of here with that. The woman voices her opinion that it is probably best that Do Yoon stays with then and she scampers off.
Meanwhile in another location is Tae in his car all bloodied and stuff. He looks at his arm where he is reminded that his pal bit him. He gets shocked to shit when another man comes banging on his car window begging to be let in.
What a nice dude he is because he actually does! They both have gas masks on and take on driving.
At the police station, the 2 police officers decontaminate themselves (I think it's the ones who initially who tied that caution tape around the dark hole). It is revealed that they are in the hospital, where it is currently in lockdown. There's a heavy amount of people in this group kinda zeroes in on one girl in particular...I don't think she is good girl. As the door is secured behind them, the older officer asks if this is enough to keep the black smoke from reaching everyone.
The doctor confirms that there are 3 layers so need not worry.
As the police officer tells the people that everything going to be alright, most are quick to do a precelebratory HOORAH! That is, you can feel the dread in his face when a familiar face emerges from the crowd.
It's the shady ass dude with the gay ass haircut. They both have some pre-pandemic tension. I think he is a loan shark or something. I'll correct it if I am wrong. He says some taunting words with some double meaning and not so thinly veiled threats. but Whatever, right?
The younger police officer is worried as he is trying to get a hold of his wife but to no avail. She's like...prego or something, right? Idk.
Tae is now reaching the shitty part of the smoke infested downtown. An infected firefighter pops out of nowhere and jumps on top of the car and takes his ax to sha-wing into the dashboard. So yeah, Tae is stuck fight this shit. No bueno.
Older police officer hears a little bit of that ruckas and the shots coming from Tae. Oof it is Tae and the dude that tagged with him. They are at the hospital door begging to be let in. Police officer wants to let them in but Doctor lady says they need to focus on the safety of the people inside.
Tae don't play that shit so he threatened to smash the door with the hammer if he doesn't let them in. They don't want to take that risk so they actually do let them in. After they both get decontaminated they join the others. Tae yells at popo but sorry, guy.
The Doctor lady notices that he has a wound and takes him into another room to treat that nasty thang. She shuts the zombie thing down and she shows everyone that she was bitten too. Just because you are bitten, doesn't mean he will turn into one of those things. Doctor lady seems to recognize him from the beginning when the smoke first began to spread. His actions led to saving a lot of lives so she kindly thanked him. Also, good timing when he finds that walkie.
Yo, I think that other lady staring menacingly at them is that murder lady brooooo
Back at the church, Do Yoon is asleep on the couch while Hwa Sun keeps vigil. The words of that lady is replaying in her head about wanting Do Yoon to stay at the chuch. This is when she finally receives Tae's message on her walkie. They give each other updates.
She says that she intends to head towards the high school eventually so yeah byeeeee.
Tae's nurse comes in to do the prep. He looks at her name tag and by chance it's none other than Yoon Saet Byeol which was the late Young Shik's internet girlfriend. So Tae inquires if she knows him. Of course! She asks if he is safe. He doesn't have the heart to tell her that he dedz. So he leaves her to believe that he is safe somewhere out there.
After he is all done getting treated, Tae walks back in the front area and takes one good look at the officer and he has a flashback. It appears he was once a uniformed officer himself. They were like trolling each other lol.
Remember that lady with the hurt foot and fucking up that altar? Yeah that's the eccentric lady that was also in the woods by the dark hole when Hwa Sun inhaled that black smoke and nearly shot Tae's head off. The woman marches up to him saying she saw him in those woods on the day prior. She asks where that woman she was carrying (Hwa Sun) and says some cryptic shit. Yo, I am a bit slow but I'm starting to think this is Lee Soo Hyun. Da murdah laydee.
In the high school: as 2 people are sealing up all the doors and windows they are talking about the communication thingy that was previously used to tell survivors to take refuge there has officially been destroyed due to asshole Chairman's orders.
Actually, all the people inside the high school are instructed to barracade the ENTIRE school so it will deter not only the infected from infiltrating but prevent survivors to take refuge in there as they will run out of food. The chairman is seen leading with an iron fist and the teacher's communication's were not approved by him so he's hella mad and destroyed any all communications to the outside world.
Chairman and the Principal Song are seen walking into his office while he briefs him on the status of the remaining food rations and generators, claiming to last a month on generator and a fucking WEEK on food. He implements strict orders to start feeding everyone 1 meal a day to make dat food stretch. Okay, so this 2nd dude in charge is the Principal of the Muji High School. Interesting. You don't get to be Chairman by good a chivilerous person, ya know. He stares menacingly at a gun he has hidden in a case.
Speaking of grub, Hwa Sun and Do Yoon are joining the church peoples for their meal. It least they have plentiful to eat. However, they do their fantastical prayer which is hella theatrical. Everyone around her have their hands in the air and everything hallelujah!!!
Yeah, Hwa Sun ain't about that life.
Before she even eats, she gets up and says she's going to GTFO. She beckons the kid but the nurse lady says that it's probably a good idea for Do Yoon to at least eat before they go. You see where this is going? As soon as Do Yoon takes her first bite, she goes epileptic and gets whisked away to another room.
Ain't that a bitch?
Nurse lady then sees the medical bracelet on her that she is anaphylactic. She was allergic to something in the food she took a nibble off of. The leader of the church says she shouldn't worry because Sky Daddy- I mean, Sky Deity- will look after her. How convenient. It shot of adrenaline and Do Yoon looks back to normal.
Hwa Sun is in a room all by herself making sure she got her gun cocked and ready to go when Leader comes in the room and tries to shove that live saving water in her grill trying to guilt trip her and everything. Homegirl actually drank it.
She is clear that the message she heard the night before about the high school being a refuge, is where she intends on taking Do Yoon. Leader calls her a FOOL. Also, that she is no longer welcome for their churchy party. On top of that, he says that he will not allow her to take Do Yoon with her so cope.
Succumbing to the effects of the water, she loses consciousness.
Speaking of the high school, it is now night time and the security guard is doing his checks to make sure all the windows and barricades are secure. In walks the mousey teacher in which he apologizes for how he talked to him earlier about the young girl he could have saved. The security is quick to accept his apology and sympathizes with him. Cool interaction between those two.
A male student walks past them and enters the cafeteria where all the survivors are at. There's no power at the moment (likely to deter outside attention) and he meets up with his 2 gal pals. Some fuck ass tells them to take their giggling gossip elsewhere.
Well, fuck.
It's the expelled dude from the beginning of the episode. He spots Dong Rim sitting by herself. While she excuses herself to the restroom, he follows her as she is washing her hands. He threatens her that if she tells anyone what happened in those woods, he'll keel her!
Dong Rim is unphased at his little threat.
But yeah, he starts to wince in pain. He looks at his eye in the mirror and holy shit, it be lookin' a little black, boi. He starts panicking like a little girl. He lifts the sleeve of his jacket and sees something crawl underneath and proceeds to freak out a see bit more. Dong Rim leaves with the parting words that she knows what is in his future. LMAOOOO.
Leader does his nightly New Sky Deity at the church where everyone except Hwa Sun is attending. She wakes up in the same room to find herself duct taped across the mouth and tied up. Bad day to be an atheist amirite?
The Leader goes on to exclaim how him and every believer in the room are en route to board a boat to get to the new heaven. Boat as in metaphorical??? This is totally giving me Heaven's Gate vibes, bro.
Hwa Sun gets a shard from her broken cup and works on sawing her way out of the ropes.
In the meantime, Leader has everyone being served this mysterious liquid and looks like they are hella about to poison themselves like Jonestown. Do Yoon is looking hella creeped out. Everyone around her proceeds to drink. The nurse lady goes to her and tells her to DRINKKKK. Right when she was about to drink...

Hwa Sun gets her to stop dead ass. However, as soon as she steps in the room, everyone else is already dead from the poison koolaid (if we want to be technical, Jonestown bros actually drank Flavoraid) The only ones alive are obviously, Do Yoon, Nurse lady and Leader. She tells them that THIS is not salvation but MURDER. Nurse lady snaps at her and calls her satan.
Leader tries to convince her that it is too late to survive in this hellscape and does a last ditch effort to convince them that this is the only way to find salvation and happieness. Nurse and Leader try to convince Do Yoon to drink it on her own free will, even having the audacity to bring up her dead mother.
Do Yoon comes to her sense and gives her life water a high five and runs to Hwa Sun's side.
As a parting gift, Hwa Sun shoots through the window and make their escape. But HOLY SHIT! Black smoke infiltrates the church! It gets into the lady.
Leader follows them to the stairs and attacks Hwa Sun, knocking the gun out of her hand. Leader picks it up and says she fucked everything up. She tells Do Yoon to run which dumbass Leader looks over at her so Hwa Sun quickly gets the upper hand back and molly womps on his dank ass. They continue to have a scuffle and she kicks him into the walls where he is incapacitated.
Right when she continues down the stairs, Infected Nurse lady attacks her in full throttle with black eyes and black veins and shit. They have an even more intense scuffle an even fall down the stairs (ouch!) Hwa Sun is able to grab her gun again and gives her true salvation. Pew! Pew!
With that shit out of the way, she goes to look for Do Yoon and looks for her in various rooms. She finds in curling in a ball. They reunite. Cry happy tears and get the utter fuck out of that wack ass church.
Little does Hwa Sun know what a grave mistake was to leave that psycho leader alone and alive. He is later seen praying to Sky Daddy at the alter when the black smoke is shown to now enter him. Now he's having weird visions. Great.
Back at Muji hospital, the officer once again tries to detain Tae and cuff him but luckily, this gets interrupted as there are bigger fish to fry. A recent discovery that there are survivors in a floor that is in complete lock down. The officer's pregnant wife is one of those trapped. Dun dun DUNNN!!!
Meanwhile Hwa Sun and Do Yoon make it to the high school. The gates at least. But it is so smokey and dark and you can barely see shit. They continue to walk cautiously towards the high school when these infected people come from the wood work so Hwa Sun does her boss girl thing and slaughter these mofos untill....
