Alice in Borderland S1E7

Previously on Alice in Borderland

Now: Episode 7

With everyone still in the lobby reeling int he WTFuckery they just walked into, Niragi takes it upon himself to take the reigns of this "game". He first accuses Asahi of being the "witch" and killing her friend Momoka. The rest of the people agree and were ready to take her to the Fire of Judgement (yeah, that's what the game is referring it to). Luckily Usagi and Mira (one of the executives) blocks them and tells them to cut their shit.

She tries to talk some sense into the crowd so they won't go haywire but that goes as well as you would expect. Another person in the crowd sees the bloodied rag in Anne's hand and Niragi accuses her of being a bitch! She tells him to STFU that it was actually due to her digging around Hatter's corpse because she thinks Hatter was MURDERED as she holds up the bullet she found in him.

This causes one of the girls in the crowd to freak out and while she is ranting. Samura (the dude covered in tats) stabs her from behind and comments that she got on his nerves. Heh. Let's just burn everyone, then.

Aguni then appears in the crowd and says how swell of an idea that is. The sooner we throw people in the Fire of Judgement then the sooner they will find the witch and clear the game. Niragi being the gun ho happy person he is gets the party started and guns go blazing and everybody is running!!!

What sucks is that one of the beacher tries to plead with Aguni making his case that they all worked as a team before so why can't they just put their heads together and play this game the right way. Niragi being the asshole he is shoots him dead. Without skipping a beat all Aguni says is he's is on no use anymore and to throw his corpse in the Fire  and don't stop until they find the witch.

Everyone is scattered in all directions and unapologetically slaughtering everyone. 

Usagi and Asahi meet up and decide to tag team with Tatta and another dude saying they can work as a team to GTFO. Usagi says sure...but let's try to find Arisu who is hidden in a room somewhere. 

It's really daunting. Aguni is just staring menacingly into the Fire of Judgement outside while body after body is being thrown. Truly disturbing.

People are continued being slaughtered. Chisiya and Kuina are luckily not caught up in that madness as they snuck away before the shooting began. They are in the control room with all the camera and watching as everyone is being gunned down in their rooms, swimming pools, stairways, everywhere. No place is safe...except the control room apparently.

Kuina takes notice of one camera in particular.

Niragi decides to get on the rooftop and he says it's much easier to pick them off. Samura comes up with a nice idea and spills the tea...I mean gasoline as a means to light the entire place on fire to push everyone out of the building. Well, I hope Niragi can get down from the roof safely then.

Usagi and Asahi continue their search from room to room when Asahi screams bloody murder. It turns out that it is one of the military dudes but he seems to have cracked. He is in a fetal position in the tub and says he can't take this shit anymore. Usagi calmly goes over to him and asks if knows the whereabouts of Arisu. What a nice guy, he actually tells her!

Meanwhile Tatta and his friend...I don't think anyone ever said his name but yeah they are in the hallway doing their own due diligence of checking all the rooms for Arisu when they both comes face to face with the militia baddies. One of the women baddies ends up shooting him dead. Tatta now decides to tell us his name. Joe. RIP Joe. Out of anger he rushes the woman and tackles her asking where is Arisu. I think she tells him but she knocks her out anyway.

Kuina goes to where Ann is at (the camera she was peering at) to ask her what does she think she is doing. Anna thinks she can figure out who the witch is by extracting fingerprints but she is searching like crazy supplies like glue, tape or some shit. Luckily she is able to find all the supplies and they both walk out towards Momoka's corpse until they come face to face with Samura AKA Last Boss. Kuina tells her to go on ahead. She got this shit covered.

The fire is spreading rapidly through the building and the alarms are going haywire at this point so...that sucks.

Arisu is still stuck like a damsel in distress waiting for his knight in shining armor in the form of Usagi. 

Niragi is still on the roof shooting people when he gets a flashback. Turns out he was once a bullied kid. Awww, poor mini Niragi but unfortunatley it has led him to this terrible murderous path in life. Chishiya accosts him on the rooftop for a final showdown. And he. CAN. NOT. WAIT.

Samura slowly walks over to Kuina and lunges at her with his long fancy sword. All Kuina can do at this point is dodge his swipes...flip flops and all. Ann clearly gets to buisness and gets a print and runs back to the lab.

Samura chases Kuina into the bar/club room where she continues to try to fight him. By that I mean continue to dodge his slicy swordy. She ends up stumbling and triggering dance music and light strobes. You know, to get in the raver mood.

Kuina ends up getting kicked to the ground. As she gets up, he asks her about her IRL life. Here we go with another flashback, bois.

She grew up getting trained in the art of Karate! Her father is a sensei and he definitely gave her no breaks. Oh and drops the bomb that she was born a he. That's right. Father walks in to Kuina putting on makeup and he throws an absolute shit fit over and fucks up the entire room. He ends up disowning Kuina and tells her to never come back. Mother seems to be much more loving and of course there is nothing she can do as Kuina walks away forever.

Timeline back to the present in the raver war room. Kuina says that now that she shared her story, it is time to share his. Both are standing still at this point and Samura be like....

Chisiya explains to Niragi that he noticed that the power got diverted to another generator when everybody got locked down in this Beach Hotel. So that means that they have a double agent in this vicinity. Someone who is totes complacent in this Witch Hunt Game going on right now. Niragi's brain can't computer this information. Chsiyah takes it a step further and straight up accuses him of knowing who the witch is since only the executives have the authority to manhandle the power grid.

Niragi has had enough of him and tries to shoot him but with the agility of a football player he makes a mad dash towards him and throws all the existing cards he stole from Aguni into the air. With the quick gesture of his other hand, he whips out his fire thrower to Niragi. HE GETS LITTTTTT.

Okay, now here we are to another flashback of Samura also known as Last Boss in the subtitles. Young Samura is blogging about a dude who dedicated his life to reaching the north pole at a dreary and failed cost. After many failed attempts and lost digits later, he eventually prevailed, becoming the first westerner to accomplish such a feat. He lives with his mommy who tries to give him food but he rudely ignores her. He continues blogging to end his post by taking one important lesson from that man's ordeal: the only way to feel truly alive is to come face to face with death. So when will that happen to him??

He stares blankly at his computer and actually continues to type who empty he feels in his current life. Point proven with his mommy. He can't even choose what he even eats. He says he has lived his whole life not aware of the consciousness of death so...how the heck is he going to get truly alive? We also see his blogs stats. Obviously, his blog falls on deaf ears as not one blog post got a single view needless to say a comment. 

And then....he got transported to Borderland with the games and shit.

He is shown along with a few other survivors exiting his first game. This is when he finally felt that rush. Now he knows what it finally means to live as he saw on his cell phone that he passed that game. 

It his his decision from that point forward, he wanted to symbolize this new change to be expressed in his physical appearance as well. He cuts his hairs and approaches a random dude that was a tattooist in the real world and commished him these fancy ass tats he is sporting right now.

After he finishes his story, Kuina just laughs at his face and lowkey calls it pathetic. Sure, they both despise their past but she says that the only difference is that he wants to shed those past while she says that she will use her past to fuel her survival.

Okay, sob stories aside FIGHT TIME!

Last Boss has a huge advantage with the sword and goes HAM on Kuina and actually nicks her arm. Still at a disadvantage with no sword, she is totes right what she said about her past because she finally gets a chance to unleash her karate skills once she gets close and disarms him. 

She puts Last Boss in a choke hold and does a fine ass ninja jump kick!! He goes crashing into some nearby tables. Ka-Chow.

Arisu is still being a helpless potato. He struggles with all his might and his chair falls to the ground. He then has a flashback of his 'ol buddies, Chota and Karuba just the 3 of them having a drink at the bar that Karube used to work at. They are shooting the shit when Karube out of left field says deadass "Arisu, do something with your life." Chota quickly agrees. Yet here he is, on the ground with duct tape over his eyes and ears and now smoke is quickly filling the room. So that...sucks.

Usagi, Tatta and Asahi finally get to the same floor and they can hear Arisu faintly calling for help after he was able to peel the tape from his face. She thinks she is able to find the door but militia ruiins the rescue and start shooting at them. Usagi is forced to parkour the fuck out of there.

There was this funny part where Tatta bumrushes the 2 guys shooting at Usagi and knocks them out with a chair and he's like "Who did this? I did this!" Asahi is feeling so end of the ropey saying she can't do this shit anymore. But when one of the guys starts to gain consciousness without skipping a beat she wacks a vamp at the back of his head. Lol. She's like "Same, bro."

Well, Usagi is able to crash through the window where Arisu is in to rescue her dear ol pal! Yay! All is right with the world.

Now, the final showdown with Last Boss and Kuina. Shit gets real and he starts throwing glass bottles on the floor to hopefully Kuina's barefeet on the war grounds. Does that stop her? Nah, fool. 

Quick flash back!!! Past Kuina in her full Kuina glory decides to visit her mother who is revealed to be in the hospital. Her mom has nothing but love and affection for her. She even tells her how beautiful she looks. Kuina's eyes light up and they both cry happy tears.

This is what current Kuina is thinking to motivate herself as Last Boss lunges at her missing her by a hair. She does this crazy karate combo and knocks him the fuck out! She repeats the lines her father once told her "Never hesitate to strike." Indeed, Kuina. Indeed.

Now that Arisu is freed, they enter a room for a quick reunite break. Tatta gives Arisu a big old hug happy to see him alive! I love that dude. Usagi hands him his phone and is the bearer of bad news that their current Witch Hunt game is down to the final 30 minutes and they obviously still have not found the witch yet.

Arisu uses his time to think out loud in an effort to figure out who TF could the witch be. He points out that this is a Hearts game, afterall. It plays with yo heart! It's not as much a physical game. Think outside the box.

As Aguni is watching more and more dead people being tossed in the Fire, he starts to have a flashback. It's of him talking to Hatter while he's looking at...hats. Wow.

Arisu then has a brilliant idea...maybe he was wrong to think from the witch's perspective but the game master? He figures that it is more likely that the events happening with Hatter's murder and the correlation of this game triggering Momoka's death has a deep connection with the game master. Together, they theorize it is someone in either the militant corps or the executive that is the game master because who else would know about Hatter's death to trigger this next game?

Meanwhile Ann is in a room all by herself when she finally gets the results from the knife and holy fuck SHE GOT IT! As soon as she runs out of the room, 2 of the militant corps knocks her unconscious with the gun. They end up choosing not to kill her and just keep going on their merry way.

A lightbulb in Arisu light up and he jumps up to finally explain.

"I know who the witch is."
