Henry James
Now: Episode 8 "Tuesday"
After priest smacks the shit out of Emma, she crawls up the stairs with him trailing behind and continuing his incantation. He continues to smack her along the way. Not very christian-like.
He only stops when he reaches her room and to his horror, she has indeed written. It has a hella terrible dislike to like ratio on her blog. It's over. Now he's saying now it doesn't matter.
Emma holds up a gun asking WTF he hitting her for. He claims he never touched her and sets down his holy water on the table. Holy fuck he's right, because now she is no longer bloodied. He has to be the bearer of bad news to say that Marianne has successfully possessed her. Emma refuses to believe it.
I mean, she did what Marianne wanted afterall. And it's Tuesday.
The priest spitfires her question "ARE YOU MARIANNE?"
"Yes."
Holy fuck he is right.
Aurore is now seen sitting at the old stomping grounds of the shipwreck where she remembers the necklace Emma told to keep a round her neck. When she got attacked last episode that was why Emma came to her side, to give her the necklace.
The priest says his only hope is the burn what's left of the grave and asks where the grave is. Marianne uses Emma to shoot him in the leg. He reaches for the alky on the table. Emma wants to get that witch out of her but the priest has to reiterate himself saying it's too late now. She can successfully use her to speak, eat and even conceive. Ew I hope not. And it's Tuesday.
As in the nursury rhyme. He finally has a chance to explain it the second time he mentions it.
As a little flashback to how the fuck Marianne is connected to Emma happened way back in the day. She was just a little girl prancing around in the leave when she came across a small hole which just so happened to be the Marianne's burial site. Mini Emma leaned closer and closer Marianne was able to successfully link to her. FOR. LIFE. Her entire ass fate was sealed just from that one fateful day.
Emma gets a little inkling and slowly walks down the stairs seeing the eerie Marianne pointing to a room. I mean, she enters then what? Well, she looks out the window in that room and is now pointing to an outdoor garden shed.
Creepy abandoned looking shed as she steps nears it but there ain't shit in there when he peeks in soooo WTF? Faintly though she can hear kids chanting that nursury rhyme. Emma decides to use her hulk strength to push the entire shed over. If only it were that easy IRL. But in doing so, it is revealed to be the aforementioned hole! Nice job, Emma.
She gets down on all fours and she now has Marianne talking to her. Hey, hey! Long time no see, she says and asks to put her arm in the hole. This wack ass ends up doing as she is told! The further she reaches, she grabs hold of Marianne's hand. Without hesitation, she lifts her up and out of there. Why, Emma? WHY!?
Emma proceeds take the blindfold thingy off her eyes and apologizes for taking her sweet ass time. And they hug.
She is now being led to the black water to see the dark man. There is very little resistance.
Priest is still at Emma's house when she sees the possessed evil looking Emma so he tries to run for his life but it is all for naught. He ends up being stabbed to death. Poor priest.
Aurore is standing right in front of the burial site and takes some cautious steps towards the front door. She sees the cursed bag on the door. She lets herself in the home. She hears Marianne whisper barking at her that she is hiding and grab that goofin' gun and try to find her ass.
She slowly looks through the house responding to the "colder" and "warmer" cues and all. After some tense search, holy fuck, she spots shoes behind the curtain. It flies open and it's a Marianne possessed Emma. She figured that out rather quickly, eh?
Well, she slowly backed Aurore in a corner and right when she is about to kill her, she remembers the motherfucking necklace! And places it around Emma's neck, stopped Marianne dead ass. As a last ditch effort Emma shines through and tells Aurore to save herself and GTFO.
Book graphic. The Final Chapter: "Letter of Intent"
Buckle up, kiddos because we are going on a flashback! This time it is for the priest. He is a 9 year old 4th grader writing in his journal asking the inquiries of his priesthood. While mini priest is actually writing his letter of intent, modern day priest is actually alive. Barely. He crawls from Emma's house and unto the grass. A montage ensues. Emma's trying to manhandle that witch inside of her and Aurore still running for her life. You know, the usual.
So this letter that is continuing to be read by mini priest is his way of pumping himself up for the fight of good versus evil and all that jazz.
Aurore is coming to terms about something and now decides to run back to Emma's house.
Speaking of Emma's house, priest reaches the hole where Marianne came out of and douses it in gasoline but before he can successfuly flick that light into it, another HAND reaches and pulls him underground. That small hole is now grave sized. And the gasoline is still running. Multiple black hands pop up from the sides to prevent him from going any further.
Another scene it seems to more metaphoric or astrally symbolic idk but it shows Emma's resistence to Marianne leading her to a seemingly enchanting land where she will reunited with her mother, Arnaud and everyone else. Emma is there because THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP. IRL Emma was so close to shooting herself but Marianne is like NOPE, not going to let you do dat.
Aurore reaches Emma's house again and sees a frightful sight. The ghostly image of Marianne trying to pry the gun from Emma. She eventually overpowers her and tells Aurore sorry before pulling the trigger.
Literally at the same exact time is when priest, against all odds is able to flick that lighter even with the black hands and a scary black head emerge and it all ignites into a fire.
Astral Emma takes her bat and swings.
Aurore gasps with air and also in a puddle of blood but whose blood? Ohh nooes Emma.
Book graphic: Epilogue
Emma is now at the hospital waking up to a stern Aurore asking if she is Marianne. After that's clear, She assures her that she is finally dead.
Holy fuck Camille, Remember her? She has finally awakened from her coma. The nurse says she's recovering but she hasn't spoken one word guessing from a psychological trauma or something. She is also getting released tomorrow so get ready! Emma tries to communicate with her but Camille doesn't move a single facial muscle.
Her dad is officially out of the hospital too and they both are having a nice dinner together. Awww. He looks like he actually likes her being in his presence now. He asks what she plans to do next. Emma replies that she ehhh will focus on writing something not scary.
Camille is officially discharged. Emma comes to pick her up but all she can do is just nod or whatever. She is still mute oh well. This is going to be uncomfortable ride then. Before they leave the known, she goes to pay her respects to the priest who perished in the fire.
Their last stop is Sebastien. His wife answers the door and her half smiles fades into a disgusted face and reluctantly gets her husband. Their happy goodbye turns sour super quickly when Emma brings up their little tryst. Sebastien ANGRILY denies it happened and never will and to stop saying that shit. So aggressive! Now she is tripped the fuck up because if it wasn't him she banged, then who was it then?!
As she gets back in the car, she tries to think back to that night to see if there were any signs she missed or something. She gets a flash of a black entity but it gets interrupted when Camille breaks the silence to say "Hell is near the ocean"
On their way out, Emma stops by a bridge to throw up not once but twice. Camille also steps out and hands her some pregnancy tests. Uhhhhh??? She's fucking preggo.
Here's another reason to hate Netflix: THEY FUCKING CANCELLED THIS SHOW!! No season 2. Let's all hold hands and cry together now.
