Erased S1E9
Now: Episode 9
Sachiko is at home folding clothes and listening to one bop of a song. When the record skips is when she realizes that holy shit her adult son, Satoru, is starting to regain consciousness!! His eyes are starting to open and move around a little bit.
Adult Kenya is delighted to get the text for the good news too.
Date: August 25, 2003
2 weeks has passed at this point and Satoru is now transported to the hospital where he is being overlooked by medical professionals. One doctor is attempting to have Satoru further follow his voice commands to lift his arms and stuff. There's little movement but progress is progress, right? He praises Sachiko for aiding in his muscle recovery.
Satoru is asked on the last thing he remembered. He takes a moment. A long moment. Trying to recollect he just plain can't, bro. So in an effort to jog his memory he brings in his old pals, Kenya and Hiromi. They both try their best to jog his memory. Of course my dude remembers these cats! They're just a whole lot older than he remembers. Kenya reveals that he became a lawyer just like he always wanted to be. Hiromi is an intern to be a doctor. I think so, anyway.
Right when Kenya was about to ask a VERY IMPORTANT question. Sachiko tells him to cut it out. I guess she didn't want to overwhelm her son that legit is freshly back to the conscious world. He obliges and they both sees themselves out but not without even more kind words to aid in his recovery.
Sachiko sees them out. In the hallway, Kenya hands the mother a big case file of everything related to Satoru and just leaves it up to her if she wants to reveal it to him one day. He's respectful and bids farewell.
There's really not much this dude can do in his hospital bed with his limited movement and all. He musters up some energy and grabs a handheld mirror to look at his reflection. He is pretty smart enough to know that his mother knows more than what she is leading him to believe but whatever, right?
He is doing some physical therapy and all when someone RUDELY interrupts his session.
Nah, just kidding. To his great delight it's KAYO!!!!! She came to visit his!! Not just any visit but she is carrying a baby. She turned out to marry Hiromi. So SWEET!!!! Funny how things turn out, right?
Their conversation goes from happy to just plain sadness. She shares guilt over him being in a coma and all. Pretty much like survivor's remorse. She feels like she doesn't deserve to be happy when all this time he was in a coma. Satoru is quick to shut that down and alleviates her feelings. Of course, he can't tell her the truth and all, ya know?
While being wheeled back he has an idea. With a paper and pen handy he starts drawing. Awww it's Kayo and her babyyyy.
Later that night his mom is there keeping him company and continuing to fold clothes and everything. This is when he decides to confront his mother and asks her if she cautioned Kayo to refrain from talking about a particular subject. Oookay! Caught red handed.
Sachiko expresses remorse that she censored them from saying what they wanted to say to him. She breaks down and says that while she did show up to visit, she was the one to talk to him every single day of those past 15 years he was in a coma. Then one day, when he did talk back, his voice changed. It was then when she realized her little boy officially grown and that saddened her. Her little angel is a grown ass adult.
She realizes what she must do. She heads over and hands him the case file thingy courtesy of Kenya and tells him that it has all the info he would probably would like to know. She steps out so he can have his privacy.
He wastes no time and opens the book. It's an extremely well made book Kenya made with all these printouts and shit. The first page is a note from Kenya to pretty much reiterate what his mother said.
It's a round about timeline of the major events.
So on that fateful day when Satoru was drugged and pushed into the lake, a good samaritan was actually the one who found his body and rescued him. My boi was in cardiac arrest but the unrelentless veternaian (yeah she is) didn't give up and gave CPR until he gasped for breath.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital where the doctors concluded that due to the water's extreme cold temperatures triggered Satoru's brain to be in suspended animation. And that's how the cookie crumbled.
For 15 years.
The way his body was found was evidentally proof that the serial killer he theorized was proven to have beeen present in that town (because the other dude though it was an out of towner). Sucks that he had to become a victim in order for eyes to be peeled on this subject.
His accident triggered an investigation on his attempted murder. Cops and investigators tried as they were unable to find leads for any suspects. Case went cold.
In time following his accident, him and his classmates organized a fundraiser for his hospital costs. He impacted all of them that much.
The next day while doing his physical therapy, he befriends a young girl. She is just so adorable! Both were outside just chatting but unbeknownst to them there was a skeezy man taking photographs of them in an attempt to make Satoru's friendship with the girl not so innocent.
However, this random ass girl caught wind of it and punched this sucker in the face. So, who is this woman? Airi!!!!! But since this is a totally new timeline, the cause of his actions that caused him to be in a coma totally overwrote the original timeline so Satoru is a complete stranger to her.
As Satoru sees her walking by he has a gut instinct to talk to her. The more of the conversation gets revealed, he is starting to peel back layers of his original timeline...and he faints. That sucks.
