Now: Episode 8

Mr Yashiro is driving Satoru's inkling pursuing the food truck believing his classmate Misato is in there. lso hands him a thermos with tea to ease his anxieties a bit. He tells his teacher that he purposefully befriended loners in an effort to throttle potential kidnappings. He says he admires him being proactive and all. In fact, he doesn't need to feel guilt in order to vill the void in their souls. Satoru's inner monologue is a little taken aback from the intensity of that statement over making new friends.

Things start to get progressively freaky as Mr. Yashiro says that even though he tends to share the same sentiment, he can often resort to more dirty tricks. Weird timing but in order to break the tension, Satoru asks to fetch some forbidden lollipops in the glove compartment. Uhhh only there's no candy in there this time.

SLEEPING PILLS.

Right he made that discovery, he confesses to Satoru that this isn't even his car. Another confession, Misato isn't even in that truck like he suspects. He proceeds to take the next turn away from the truck as it is still on the main road.

Getting more and more major creeps, he tries to undo his seatbelt but Mr. Yashiro's facade finally slips and he the real dark side of a man he has always known as his teacher.

In typical creepy villain fashion, he says that even though he seemingly inadvertedly thwarted his plan for Kayo, he knew it was no longer a coincidence when he tried again with Aya and then was the night him his mom saw him in the street with the bags and "miraculously" saw him, hence the ride home. He used Misato as bait. He gave Misato tea with some laxative to compel her to use the bathroom and having Satoru follow would totally confirm he is his mortal enemy would be totes confirmed.

So there they are.

Satoru's inner monologue is just being devastated the fact that the real killer right next him is a man he never expected. He was too busy preventing his fellow peers from being murdered that he forgot think the killer was under his nose the entire time.

The more than time goes on, the more of the sleeping pills are starting to take affect Mr. Yashiro proceeds to tell his sob story how his older brother used to beat him but as he grew older, he turned that energy into assaulting young girls. Mini Yashiro was forced to keep watch. Until one day, his brother escalated to strangle a young girl to death. In turn, older brother "committed suicide" all that set his tone for what would his future.

I don't think he heard that, bro. Satoru is knocked TF out.

Mr. Yashiro gets out of the car and makes that car plow into the lake. And walks away.

The next day in class is when the kiddos are informed of the tragic accident that befell Satoru. Kenya takes this especially hard and runs out of the classroom. He is currently in critical condition.

Cutting to a now modern day times. Satoru's mother, totally not murdered anymore, is seen at work when she comes across her old friend, Sawada. He takes her out to eat and gives her tickets for Ueno Art Museum which was what mini Satoru's wishes.

Outside in the rain Sawada approaches a young man and introduces himself. This young man? It's a grown up Kenya. And Sawada has some things to discuss with him. To the day, the statute of limitations of up for that unfortunate incident. He wants to team up with him to find the REAL killer.

Satoru's mother comes home and Satoru is in a coma and has now grown but still ya know...in a coma. That's where this epiosode ends.
