Episode 4 "A Rock and A Farway"

A little kid is seen stepping out of the underground cellar thing Jade was in back in episode 3. He has a rough morning because as soon as he steps out he sees a mass killing of bodies laying all over the road.

It switches to the old creepy guy, Victor, implying that little boy was him. And he went through a traumatic experience.

In Colony House, Julie wakes up to Victor sitting in front of the couch she was sleeping on. He was drawing her out of crayons. Har har. He babbles about the oddity of false awakenings. She says nothing as she embraces the drawing he hands to her and he beelines out of there. Eccentric fellow indeed.

A girl named Trudy walks up to her asking for her pillow back. Julie apologizes as someone else tossed it to her last night before heading to bed. Trudy's totally friendly about it, she calls the pillow Meredith. Julie compliments her shirt but it is revealed they are like low key communists. They share EVERYTHING in this house. Trudy went through Julie's things and helped herself to the aforementioned shirt. Oooh I can just imagine Julie wincing at this since she made it clear she even felt uncomfortable at the thought of her dad touching her shit. Yikes.

Waiting for the bloodied box to get cleaned up, it's unfortunately Boyd's job too to do the box cleanup. It's a nasty sight.

Over at the house Jim tries to comfort Tabitha who is struggling with this new transition. It's barely Day 2! She gets real emotional at the fact she is drinking out of a dead woman's mug and living in the same house where they got slaughtered. Ethan wakes up and misses his big sister.

Hey! What better way to break the doom and gloom then head on over to the diner! TO THE DINER!

Poor Boyd. I really like this guy though, I love the way he curses especially in that church the last episode haha. But he's reeling of what's left of Frank's remains to Father. He gets a bit snippy with him but goes off on his way.

Jim and Ethan enter to a very busy diner whom the murder girl greets them and seats them at a nearby table being friendly little lady.

Not too far away, Kenny finds a distraught Jade sitting right by the underground cellar to explain to him what he saw the day before. Holy shit, it's empty! WTF! Jade swears over what he saw. Kenny suggests to head on over the the Sheriff's station then. Ok.

Jim and Ethan stuff their faces eating pancakes when the kid perks up and says maybe their temporary stay is like a quest. And then he goes on his imaginary story with the finger puppets that they have to go through the lake of tears to save someone or something. This seems to break the dad's spirit so he excuses himself to the bathroom where he lets out a good cry to get it out of his system.

Victor walks in the diner and spots Ethan sitting alone and tells him that the trees have in fact moved 4 inches! No bueno? No bueno. He shows him a crayon drawing asking if he saw the boy in the picture. unintentionally funny! Jim comes back out and gets aggressive with Victor thinking he's a creeper (I'm starting to think he is not) and tells him to stay the fuck away from his kid. Ethan in his limited little kid vocabulary is like WTF DAD!

Fatima back at the house sees a crying Julie and tries to confort her when she says she may have made the wrong choice choosing Colony House. Being a good friend, Fatima tries to get her to see the bright side of things. She leads her outside to show her the COOL expensive clothes that literally anybody, including her can wear.

Fun gets interrupted when her mother strolls on by to drop off her sweater. More like an excuse to talk. Julie snaps and says that she is tired of her being manipulative trying to claw her back into her clutches. She drops the bomb that she knows that their original trip was a last ditch effort to save their marriage and they were pretty much headed to divorce. Also dropped the fact there was a THIRD CHILD! The death of Thomas, this third child is implied to have caused a lot of distress between their marriage. She gets heated and then rage quits the conversation and storms off.

At the sheriff's office, Kenny shows Jade a map of the United States with numerous pins in varying cities all across the country. He explains to him where he was driving when he got to this place, and Kristie, and himself and so on. For some unknown reason it has warped unknowing travelers to this city. A city yet to be known for it has no known location just yet.

Jade snaps and doesn't like how everyone is just settling for their fate staying stuck in this town not even trying to escape this place. He vows to get to the bottom of it and get the hell out of here. Kenny says nah. You gotta adapt or break yourself trying. Every noobie thinks they got to avoid monsters but it's more than that, it makes you question every thing you know. Jade yanks out the radio and runs off.

Tabitha reaches the footsteps and sees Jim at the footsteps leering at the crayon picture. They both are having a rough time here. Ethan is mad at dad. Julie is mad at mom. Now Jim and Tabitha are mad at each other. Such a big mess. Bringing all this drama!! Ermahgerd.

Meanwhile Ethan is inside the house just vibin'. Victor then knocks on the door where he meets him outback. Victor says he needs his help to find the little boy in white. He says that this little boy CHOSE him. "Like a bus?" lol I Choo Choo CHOOOSE You. meme. So like I said, the mysterious boy chose Ethan like he once chose himself a long time ago.

Boyd is now set to restore the box while Father Kahtri tries to mend things with him but Boyd ain't having none of that shit. I guess he wants to clear the air and that's why he's still lingering. He just tells them that he needs to stay strong for the people. He's their rock or whateva. Kinda annoying but I suppose this is what Boyd needs to hear.

Victor and Ethan are in the woods now. He's a smart boy so he figures out his parents died and stuff so he reveals that he once had a baby brother that died. Victor is like "WTF? I don't curr." Just as quickly, they see the boy in white! He puts a smiley on a rock and drops it in a hole in the tree. It gets tossed from above?? WHAT?

Victor explains in simple terms that this tree is a portal. That it can exit anywhere, mountains and you'll never know where you'll end up. Portals are temperamental that way and that there are dozens of these. He then gets spooked when he hears a dog barking. Victor winces in traumatic distress and says they need to GTFO. Right meow.

Jim and Tabitha go back inside the house and discover Ethan missing.

They find all find each other in the woods as that was their first instinct to check. Jim is FURIOUS! He got them murder eyes set on Victor: "I warned you." but Victor has the upper hand and whips out his gun. So Jim just heads back home to avoid further confrontation.

In Victor's flashback as a kid, he heads back into town where more dead bodies are laying around. However, there s a boy in white whom he follows. He is on a playground and beckons him over.

Adult Victor is now in his room pin pointing yet another of  many of his crayon drawings on his walls.

Jim heads up to Boyd to make a complain against Victor but Boyd says since he is a part of the Colony House, he needs to take it up with Donna. While they're at it, since things were rather hectic, they haven't had a chance to get acquainted. So Jim invites him to go have a meal with him.

Speaking of Colony House, Fatima and Ellis surprise Julie with a more spiced up living quarters. How sweet. Just to further show how Julie is coming around to Colony House now.

Boyd has breakfast with Jim and fam so they are now in a proper setting and having a nice talk but as always, there can never be good things around here. Kenny whisks him away due to other concerning matters at hand.

Meanwhile murder girl waitress, (I finally know her name is actually Sarah) is working the diner and gets an abrupt hallucination. Her arms start to burn with the message:

"Kill the boy."

And she goes into a seizure.

At Colony House, Donna is disturbed at the sight of Victor digging graves and it's freaking people out. All Victor can say is "So I can have a head start." Shiiiit.
