Darknet S1E1
Episode opens up with a punk rock on the sub listening to some screamo music on her headphones. She ends up getting murdered while waiting at a bustop.
There is a girl who just got done using the restroom and closes her toilet lid. What a psycho! Fast forward when she comes home from work but as she undresses she is in shock when she notices footsteps and worse of all, the lid to the toilet is...OPEN!!! Oooohhhh.
Switching scenes to a dude going down the escalator on the phone talking to a lawyer going over details of a rough divorce. After the call ends, he goes a locker to retrieve his belongings. Upon opening, there is another key in there for #23. So he opens #23 and holy fuck another fucking key #41 along with an organ donation card. Hmm okay. Well upon opening #41 is an envelope and #B-06 key but in the envelope is $50 G's.
He has to go to a whole ass new location to get to this other box. After unlocked that one. Well, he inserts the key but has a change of heart because well fuck this is why. While he's walking away the door just slowly opens by itself like black magic or sum. Inside is a cyclops naked dead guy with needles and trash around him. Upon closer inspection, the dude's eye flies open and he stabs him with said needle and off he flops.
When he comes in, he is now inside of the locker crunched over all while this nakey guy dresses himself from the bag in the original locker. After he clams the locker shut he grabs the cash and limps away.
Toilet seat girl is chatting with her friend stomping along the sidewalk and actually passes by limp noodle over there and doesn't bat at an eye.
This girl and her friend get back to her apartment and after determining her apartment is safe, they are having a girls night in I suppose. She fucks up dinner so she goes in the fridge to grab some leftovers but holy fuck there is already a bite in it that she swears that she didn't even open. Aaah. I wonder if limp noodle was the dude hiding in there? She proceeds to freak out even more when she thought someone outside was looking right at her. Conceited, much? So she installs a cam in a toy and sets it on the shelf.
Meanwhile there is a new guy in his own house that is chatting with a dude on the phone who tells him to check out a wacky website he came across called Darknet hey! That's the name of the show! He narrating as he is navigating through the site of disturbing site and forums. First post he saw was about the tourism organs for sale along with a picture of the dude from earlier. He reads another thread about finding a dead body and wondering what to do with it. Not taking it seriously at all, he sarcastically replies "Cut the body into pieces and mail them to a different country." LOLz fun fact: this show is adapted from the Japanese original Torihada
Guy and his friend are now on the street IRL when he gets a reply. "Sent to Japan xoxo". Friend is hella skeptical and thinks this is for real and tells him to clench his balls should he be an actual accessory to murder after the fact. He don't give a shit and rides off into the sunset.
Well, it's night time now and gets another reply to the thread.
"Now that I killed a person, I'd to kill another...If you don't believe me, I've left proof on (random name) road. Plz go check it out!"
This fuck ass decides to go see for himself and off he goes to look duh proof.
As he reaches the tunnel, there is a bag. Just a bag. He slowly approaches it to open it. Just a stuffed bear. Consider yourself trolled!
The girl comes back home the same night but she still gets the heebie jeebies upon her return. With the same girl on the phone with her, she proceeds to check her security home footage...fuuuuuck did you catch that? There is the aforementioned stuffed animal there. Security footage seems fine but right when she felt comfortable that was when she noticed a man enter her home and hide just mere seconds before she stepped in. In shock, she doesn't reply back to her and even hangs up on her.
She rushes the closet and blindly stabs whoever is in the closet.
This whole time she is trying to call back. A few minutes later she finally picks up but she decides against telling her that she just killed a man.
After she gets off the phone she Googles like a dummy how to get rid of a body. This is when she comes across Darknet and creates an account and posts. Yes, the same post that the dude earlier came across. Timey wimey wibbly wobbly.
What a twist. So it was this chick that made that post. Hmm.
Now that the timeline is now in the same. We are back to the dude finding the stuffed bear. A camera is hidden and an unseen person stabs him to death.
This clip is uploaded to Darknet as a person in a park is watching on her laptop. Yes, I said her. BECAUSE THIS IS THE SAME PUNK ROCK LADY not a surprise actually if you have half a brain. She closes the laptop and walks away.
Concluding this episode. Coming full circle bruh.
I honestly love the metal tracks in here. I remember being so bummed that Shazam couldn't identify this song but really my goofy self should have just waited for the credits. The band is Raggedy Angry and the songs featured is "Fire Engine Red" for intro and "Digital Hell" for the outro. I don't think that is really even the norm nowadays but glad they did for this Canadian show. I think this is part of some connected universe where all these episode are...uh connected. This is just my guess since I'm sure there might be more to the organ locker dude. For example, upon 2nd watch, In the very beginning of the episode Alison actually leers at a newspaper of the slaying of Lewis. Not much time has passed since it is on the front page and alluding to Saturday as in fucking recently! I wonder if there would be an explanation at her sudden physical transformation and living with her mom since in the episode she was living alone.
Whoever produced this show looooves metal. There are various nods as such. Intro/outro jams, Crimson Shadows patch on punk rock chick's jacket and the top Google search result being a nu-metal band.
