Erased S1E4
Episode 4
Satoru runs straight to Kayo's home but his knocks fall on deaf ears. He even checks the back shed (in the original timeline where her dead body was found) but to his horror, he sees 2 sets of tracks one being adult footsteps leading away from the shed which confirms his fears.
March 3rd, 1988 is the current timeline's Day X. Kayo's disappearance.
The teacher explains to class shortly after that Kayo abruptly moved to Sapporo to live with her grandmother and expresses sadness she wasn't able to say goodbye. Kenya looks at Satoru and he knows all too well.
A very sullen Satoru sobs on his way home, even reminiscing the good memories he had with Kayo just as he passed the playground. He's sad that he knows he could've done more for her. His mother tries to console him.
Satoru notices that the timeline is starting to reveal new changes from the original timeline. He passed by a missing kid's poster which caught him by surprise that another child went missing so soon after Kayo's disappearance. As he continues to walk home, he spots Kayo's mother dumping Kayo's old clothes, including her uniform but she doesn't seem to be showing any grief for her missing daughter. Strange. It's been a week past her disappearance at this point and it is definitely such odd behavior. He runs in anger.
NOW HE'S GONE THROUGH A REVIVAL BACK TO HIS CURRENT TIMELINE
He's back at the alley in his adult aged body again resuming where he left off at with his blood soaked hands. No popo"s this time, huh? Now he's on the run all Warrior's style and sneaking through the neighborhood to avoid being caught. He sees a hidden view of his house and there's already police presence and a huge crowd outside where one of the neighbors is seen describing Satoru's physical description to the police as the prime suspect. No way will they believe he wasn't the murderer so he knows he has to find the killer himself to clear his name. So he continues running until...
Homegirl Katagiri to the rescue!
Despite him being covered in blood and all, she knows he ain't a bad guy so she offers him refuge at her place. She tells him that yup she knows all about the murder because not only it is on the news (ALREADY?!) but the police stopped by their work asking his whereabouts but she totes knows he ain't about that life. She is literally Satoru's knight in shining armor. Awwww!
As she handed him a newspaper, it strikes him odd because he remembered she already gave it back before his revival. Implying his current timeline has changed. DAFUQ. She also mentions Kayo's murder that it happened on the day of the festival. He opens the book where it confirms the 3 children that were murdered and he indeed did change the past by delaying her murder by mere days.
He goes to Google equivalent search to look up similar crimes in the area in which he finds 3 years prior a young girl has suffered the same fate.
Katagiri grabs some pizza and is on her way home when her boss makes a sly mention about Soturu and requests to give him a heads up should she come into contact with this person of interest. She says nothing only nods and smiles.
Since he is already on a motorized bike, he beats her to her own home and has a Satoru sighting. Right when he is about to call the detective, Katagiri intercepts the call. Snatches the phone out of his and gives him five finger face slap to the face. Brave woman. Cool to know she's ride or die for him.
She takes Satoru into the tunnel and says he is no longer safe at her place. She does try to help him as much as she can by wanting to send him packing with money from her safe box at home.. While he's wait for her, he gets a text from someone impersonating him so he runs since someone is now trying to frame him for murduh.
It's too late, the killer broke in her home and killed her!!!!!
Satoru doesn't make it in time and sees her lifeless body on the ground when the killer pushed her off the 2nd story. The boss is weirdly right at the scene. He tells him to skedaddle (redemption arc much?) while he calls for help.
He has no choice but to run into an alley now. He thinks to himself that that the killer is no stranger and has got to be someone close to him. I mean, he knew exactly where Katagiri lived so...what the fuck?
A paper he pulls out from his pocket that he just now remembers that he took from his mom's dead hands when he originally found her. He unrolls it and it's a phone number. A clue! A clue!
Things are getting spicy now.
Episode 5 is next.
