Episode 1 (there's no official episode titles, sorry)
There is an eagle's eye view from the city. It looks like shit. Crumbled down buildings, misty ass smoke everywhere. Knocked over trees but most horrific of all: a disturbing lack of people. Cars are strewn around and there's even bloody handprints on various windows.
Inside of this building is a young girl very scared and alone is walking through a weird lab like interior with exposed wires and everything. She looks to be around 10 years old or so. From the distance she can hear movement but she come in direct eye sight of a lonesome sentient tentacle. EWW! A grown woman steps into shot and well shoots the tentacle. The little girl runs into her arms as if they are finally reunited from this yet to be seen separation they originally had. Off they run but the tentacle seems to be extremely close.
Aaaah mutants!!! Not zombies as I originally thought.
Ooh and this hunky asian dude seems to handle his own battling against these people with black shit running out of their mouths. Oh dear, he seems to be outnumbered.
Scene switching back to this older woman (her name is Hwa Sun) who tries to find a safe spot and asks the child to wait there as she tries to go for help or something. Oof there are these creepy steps from some unearthly monster peering around the corner but the woman is able to lure it away with a gun shot. The hunky man saves the day. Asks about the girl. We now know the child's name is Do Yoon.
Right when they resume their walk, Hwa Sun gets a weird migraine-like wince. And then this creature appears before them to both of their horror. It is not shown on screen at this point but Hwa Sun reacts "How can this be?"
AAAAANND NOW we get a flashback on what led up to these events. Talk about reverse cliffhanger.
Hwa Sun is at a gravesite for her husband, Kang Sung Bum. She stands there and looks back on the day he died. She was speeding in her car with her husband on the phone. He is seen tied to a chair with tears running down his face while an unseen person removes the phone from his ear. She is too late, she finds his lifeless body on the floor with the killer's trademark sack over his head with a happy face drawn over with lipstick. Brutal.
Hwa Sun then gets a call from fellow Detective So Jung Hwa who refers to her as Sunbae. She calls to inform her that Lee Soo Hyun is back. The person responsible for the murder and that she ought to drop by the active crime scene.
Over there at the crime scene there is a a news bulliten talking about the dark spots on the sun being the most active over known history. Must be some kind of significance I believe. I'll just leave that info here for now.
Their superior (referred in captions as Team Leader) finds out that Hwa Sun is on the premises and he BIG MAD! He feels that since she has a connection to the serial killer that her emotions who pose as a liability to the case. She realizes this I guess but she said herself that this current victim marks #8 from this monster, how can she NOT at least get involved?! Afterall, she is an officer and it is in her duty but her team leader tells her to practically tread lightly.
She approaches the victim lying lifeliess in the bathtub with the same sack on his head. She gets overwhelmed and storms out.
Switching scenes now to these 2 guys sitting in the car. Hunky asian guy from earlier is now introduced with his goofy sidekick in the passenger seat. Mmmmm. Too brief a scene if you ask me. They are in the tow truck business I believe.
Yet another change of scenery at the police station where more snippets of the news saying NASA is closely monitoring these sun spots in which there is more frequent albeit small explosions. Hyun Ho is a young officer whom his superior tells to get in the car. Trailer close behind him is Sergeant Park Soon Il but gets interrupted by this menacing looking dude who gives him some thinly veiled threats about owing him some money or something. Skeezy ass loan shark.
ANYWAYS
Once he gets in the car, they head on over to some scene of accident passing over asian hunk. They get to the scene of a multi car accident and tries to free a young woman stuck upside down. He takes out his knife and tries to cut her seatbelt off while making conversation with her to try to ease her panickness.
OMG he must hurry because the car has sparked a fire so now it's a race against time. She finally gets her lose. They escape just in the nick of time. Phew!
Meanwhile some random dude is into these woods. He spots a peculiar looking egg with an ominious tentacle creeping in the forest and trips the dude. Reeling in pain he inadvertantly inhales black smoke. It induces these nightmarish images in his head about various memories of his life where he was bullied due to his condition where he has wart like deformities on his face. He expresses anger into the void where a voice that says to "kill them all". Ya boi is all riled up now. Great.
Hwa Sun gets back home staring at her wedding picture that she refuses to take down. Memories that still haunt her. She misses her hubby!!
Reminiscing time is over. Her phone gets bombarded with messages with stuff like "Do you want to know why I killed your husband? You two wanted to change me and that disgusted mehhhh" This person texts REAL fast. Continuing the one sided conversation tauting a meet up.
There was a brief flashback of the both of them walking through some kind of group home. They were talking about kids who came from not so normal homes and about giving them a 2nd chance at life. Yowza so was this an adopted kid that commited this murder or what???
Hwa Sun get packing (her gun that is) and races over. She calls her colleague Jung Hwa and sends her the location. She begs her to let the police handle it that is not personally involved but Hwa Sun is adamant
Oooh shit here is woman that is bound. The cold blooder serial killer all along is this young woman who places a bag over her head and humming while dementedly drawing her signature smiley face.
A yet unknown woman walks in and plays hide and seek with a young girl. OOOOOOO it's Do Yoon from the beginning of the episode. Awww noo so something ends up happening to her mommy. Aw man...
Ritualistic something is going on here. A woman is dressed in a jester-like attire and hops on horizontal blade over. And Over. And Over. And plop. Her feet is sliced open and blood is pouring. Sucks bro. She gets humiliated while she overhears people saying she lost her "power" and is now a fraud. She expresses anger at the statue as she plead her undying allegiance in exchange for her "powers". Uhh yeah we need more elaboration por favor.
Hwa Sun is driving along a rainy night when she bumps into the guy with the black smoke. He just stares at her dead ass mumbles some lovely homicidal poetry and scampers back into the woods. She arrives to...
