Tales from the Crypt S1E2
"And All Through the House"
This episode starts off around Christmas time with a jolly good setting with you seeing all these Christmas decorations, lights and all that jazz. The radio is blaring with a sweet slow burning Christmas music playing. The husband is in front of the fire just chillin'. She asks the wife for the paper or something. With a fire poker already in hand and with a gradually unhinged tone she goes "What did you say?"
Husband snaps back "What are ya , deaf?!"
In one swift movement she plunges the poker into his head, killing him instantly. It's not known exactly why she wanted him dead. It definitely went beyond just copping an attitude. But whatever.
And like immediately after this happens, her daughter comes down the stairs wanting to see Santa and shit but her mothers gently yet urgently rushes her up to bed. It's made clear when she says goodnight to dead guy that he is not her biological father as she calls him Joseph when she tells him goodnight. After tucking her daughter in, whom is giddy as heck because she wants a Santa sighting, she goes back down stains to call an unknown party saying that she did. Money is "ours" and blah blah blah. So that explains why she wanted him dead. No more info beyond that if anything else warranted the killing but yeah let's keep going with the episode.
As she's dragging her now ex husband's corpse out the door there is a radio interruption with an all points bulletin that there is an escape mental patient that is loose and has murdered peope in the area. He is currently wearing a Santa Suit that he got from one of his victims. Of course she is just out of ear shot to so she has no darn idea. She continues to drag the body outside and intending on throwing him down a nearby well. Then awwww shit dead husband ain't dedz and tries to grab her.
After she manages to get away she manages to come across Mr Santa Killer. Aaaahhhhh. Yeah she's quite the scream queen here lolz.
She is able to make it inside in one piece after mutilating him a lil. This is when she finally gets a phone call does she realize about that killer on the loose. The sheriff that called her says that they are sending officers to everyone in the area, including hers. In the moment she's like WOT?! Because dead husband not being disposed on yet. So after the phone call, she manages to come up with idea to frame Killer Santa for the murder.
She leaves the safety of her home and with the an ax she swings it on the exact spot she used to kill her husband with the fire poker. Ya know, so it will hide her implication so that it was Saaaaanta.
She heads back inside and calls 911 for help until she notices that not only is the ax gone from her dead husband's corpse but the previously incapacitated serial killer is no longer there!! So this time she REALLY pleads for help to the 911 operator. Insert insane screams here.
She realizes that "Oh, yeah! I haz gun!" She runs to the closet to retrieve it but in some strange turn of events the knob ain't knobbing and complete knobicide. Bummer she is so locked in the closet!
As if it couldn't get any worse she all of a sudden sees a ladder being placed in front of the window and Santa giving a little cute wave. She realizes that the ladder is leading up to her daughter's room. So she is screaming even more so than ever trying oh so desperately to break free. All the while this little girl is excited because in her eyes IT'S SANTA! GET UP HERE YA DOPE!
She eventually does and runs to a now empty room. Heading back down stairs she is greeted by an elated daughter and goes to her "SEE?! I told ya Santa would come!!!" And the mother is just yelling incessantly as the episode comes to a close.
Concluding this open ended of an episode. Episode 3 is next.
According to the crypt keeper, the child wasn't harmed. Ha. I loved how the show just wanted to point that out.
Thanks for stopping by this blog for this briefish recap of the episode. For some reason, I can't find these episode on any streaming service to my knowledge. I found these off of Youtube. That's why I want to make my way through these episodes just in case they get yanked for copyright. Happened before :(
